I believe a Limited Liability partnership routed through Alternative Investment Funds can invest in both subject to certain conditions. There is no regulations in LLP act or SEBI which restricts such investments but as per my knowledge registering a LLP for the sole purpose for investing in such assets requires an approval/NOC from RBI and RBI has certain reservations issuing the same.
