You have to give a correct email id, PAN number and mobile number to start the preliminary verification process

File GST REG-1 to start the online registration process.

Once the verification is done then you have to fill FORM GST REG-2 and upload the necessary documents on the site.

An officer will then give his nod whether your application is accepted or not.

If the uploaded files and documents verification process are successful, you will receive FORM GST REG 6 within 72-hour. It means your registration is successful.

However, if the officer finds that your application is incomplete or lacks veracity, he may direct you to furnish further details.

Your application will then stand rejected and you will be informed within 3 days with GST REG FORM5.

You need to resubmit the form again with additional details and further information as sought by the officer.

If the officer finds your resubmitted application successful, then he will grant you a certificate as stated above in the Step-Vi.

Important Documents You Need While Registering for GST

  1. A color passport size photograph and its scanned copy ready.
  2. A Pan Card.
  3. The types of business organization you have (Partnership Deeds for partnership business) Certificate of Incorporation-COI (in case of company) and income tax returns (in case of sole proprietorship).
  4. Proof of address (electricity bill, LPG gas connection, NOC, AAdhaar Card or rent agreement) should be provided.
  5. Bank Account Details with IFSC code and 15-digit bank account Number.

It’s compulsory for every business man to get register for GST when his business transaction or turnover exceeds Rs. 20 lakh per annum. However, he doesn’t need to pay the GST tax immediately. He may need to pay GST tax only when his annual business turnover crosses Rs. 20 lakh in a year.
